Strengths Profile

The Strengths Profile four quadrant model

The Strengths Profile is a research-backed tool that helps us identify our key strengths, learned behaviours and weaknesses. It also helps us learn how to work with our strengths to create greater energy and engagement in our lives and work, and to achieve our goals and dreams. And best of all, it’s easy and fun to use!

What is a Strengths Profile?

A Strengths Profile is an online assessment tool that measures your performance, energy and use of 60 strengths. These strengths are the most common, global strengths that have emerged from over two decades of research.

After completing a Strengths Profile assessment, you receive a report with details of your Realised and Unrealised Strengths, Learned Behaviours and Weaknesses. This report has tips and strategies to help you get the most out of the information it presents.

What's involved in a Strengths Profile assessment?

In the assessment, you’ll answer 180 questions. It sounds like a lot, but they’re easy questions. Most people finish in 15-20 minutes. And don’t worry, there’s no such thing as a “wrong” answer!

You’ll the receive your report by email. You’ll receive either a summary of your top items (Introductory profile), or full results for all strengths (Expert Profile). They are split into four quadrants.

The four quadrants of the Strengths Profile model

The Strengths Profile model has four quadrants. They are:

  • Realised Strengths – things that you are good at, that energise you, and that you use frequently
  • Unrealised Strengths – things that you are good at, and that energise you, but you aren’t using frequently
  • Learned Behaviours – things you are good at, but de-energise you. You may or may not use these frequently.
  • Weaknesses – things you aren’t good at, and that de-energise you. Like Learned Behaviours, your use of these may vary.

By understanding what falls into each area, you’ll learn how to make the most of your Realised and Unrealised Strengths, and how to use them to support your Learned Behaviours and Weaknesses.

How do I interpret my Strengths Profile report?

The report contains your results, and useful information about how to work with each strength. But the real magic happens when you have an experienced coach work through the report with you. They will ask questions to help you think more deeply about your strengths, offer fresh perspective, and guide you to get the most out of your profile report.
