Hi reader
Spring has finally arrived in full force here in Auckland, and I couldn't be more grateful. As our lockdown enters its 9th week, the promise of longer, warmer days is one of the key things that is supporting my happiness and wellbeing.

I'm also enjoying the challenge I set myself to use my strengths in new and different ways. I've seen in my own life, and in many clients' lives, how the deliberate use of our strengths boosts our engagement, energy, achievement, and vitality.

A new way I'm using my strengths has been to create an infographic called 'How to Use Your Strengths to Achieve Your Goals and Dreams'. Creating the infographic has allowed me to tap into my strengths of storytelling and simplifying complex information - and now I'm dialling-up my strength of personal growth to ask for your feedback (which will get you in the draw to win a prize!)

The Strengths Infographic

As a subscriber to my newsletter, I wanted you to be the first to see what I've been working on. And as someone interested in making the "human stuff" better and easier, I know you'll have great insights into how I can make the infographic even better! You can download it here.

Everyone who sends me feedback on the infographic goes into the draw to win a free 90-minute strengths coaching session with me, valued at NZ $350. Terms and conditions apply*

Make sure you send your feedback in by next Tuesday, 26th October to be in the draw. Thanks in advance for your feedback - and good luck for the draw! 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

The Best and Wisest Piece of Advice I Ever Received

A photo of a person with a box over their head labelled "brain" and a hand putting the word "idea" into the box
Back in my early 20s, I was given a piece of advice, and told that it works in every situation that humans face. I initially couldn't (or rather, wouldn't!) accept the idea that it could apply in every context. And I tried really hard to imagine a situation in which it wouldn't work... but even now, a couple of decades …

The Link Between Appreciative Inquiry and Strengths

A diagram of the 5 principles of Appreciative Inquiry
Appreciative Inquiry is a method for solving problems and implementing change by focusing on the positive. The Ai (1) approach is perfectly aligned with the strengths-led approach, thanks to their common focus …

A glass container of salt with a red lid, lying on its side on a wooden board, with salt crystals sprinkled around
'Goldilocks and the Three Bears' was one of my favourite fairy tales growing up. Salt is one of my favourite condiments. It seems weird to put those two sentences together. But today I realised how much they have taught me about the idea that we can have "too much" of a good thing. There's nothing wrong with a good thing …
