Every new leader I’ve ever worked with has had a ‘Help, they put me in charge!’ moment.

They’ve been given the title of leader*, but no support or direction about how to lead people.

They’re left floundering, trying to mimic people they think are good leaders, without any way to know if they’re being successful. If they’re lucky, they’ll get a performance review after a year, and find out if they’ve done OK or missed the mark entirely.

It’s a stupid approach, and we really need to stop doing it!

(* when I say ‘leader’,  I also mean ‘manager’)

Go from "Help, they put me in charge!" to "I've got this!"

There is a much better way to grow leaders, and it doesn’t need years of study or being thrown in the deep end to learn from trial and error.

Daria Williamson’s forthcoming book, ‘Help, They Put Me In Charge!’ is full of practical, effective strategies and tools to take you from uncertainty and fear to competence and confidence.

The book, Daria’s second*, will be published in March 2027. Get on the mailing list here to be the first in the know with announcements and launch details.

(* Daria’s first book is called ‘Unleash Your Awesome’ – it’s all about finding your Zone of Genius and creating the kind of life and work you’ve been dreaming of. You can find out more about it here).
